Subang Jaya Medical Centre (SJMC) has been a leading hospital in Malaysia since 1985, internationally accredited by Joint Commission International (JCI) and the Malaysian Society for Quality in Health (MSQH).
The hospital has continuously upheld the highest standards of care and best practices in quality and patient safety. JCI is a recognized leader in international health care accreditation. The Gold Seal of Approval® of JCI is a prestigious global symbol of quality that reflects the serious commitment by an organization in providing safe and effective patient care. The accreditation by the world’s foremost health care accreditor is a recognition of SJMC’s efforts in demonstrating a deep commitment to high-quality care, a culture of safety for patients, visitors, and staff, a care delivery based on leading, evidence-based practices, and leadership in continuous compliance with exacting standards.
Achievements
SJMC has consistently set medical firsts in Malaysian healthcare since opening in 1985.
Among these were the first open-heart surgery as well as adult and paediatric bone marrow transplants in private healthcare, paediatric liver transplant, and awake craniotomy (brain neurosurgery) in the country. =
In 2021,
We achieved another milestone in Malaysia by performing the first day care knee replacement surgery which allowed the patient to walk and return home the same day after surgery.
The following year, another two firsts in robotic-assisted orthopaedic surgery were achieved in the country, namely robotic patellofemoral knee replacement surgery and robotic hip replacement surgery using anterior approach which is muscle-sparing.
Awards
We are honoured to be the only two-time winner of the Prime Minister’s Quality Award for private hospitals. In 2022, SJMC won an additional seven significant awards, including the GlobalHealth Asia-Pacific Awards for Stand-Out Jury Award Hospital of the Year in Asia-Pacific and Frost & Sullivan’s Asia-Pacific Best Practices Award - Malaysia Hospital Company of the Year, for a second year running.
